Viewing Sandhill Cranes in Lewellen, NE.
Immersive, never invasive
Please see the important note below!
Situated near a local roosting spot, we have located a blind perfect for viewing the awe inspiring perspective of thousands of cranes waking, talking, clucking, and preparing for their synchronized lift off to far off fields where they feed through the day returning as the sun sets.
If you plan to stay overnight we encourage you to stay near the Village of Lewellen. While there are other accommodations in the area, (Visit Garden County) we feel that the Lewellen Lodge is the most logical choice primarily because of the location. We will rendezvous at the Lewellen Lodge at 4:15 am in order to be inside the blind well before daybreak. Please visit the link above to check availability, rates, etc. also see the Contacts page under the Lodging tab.
If you find yourself spending a few days in the area with a few friends, the Garden County Visitors Committee has a nice incentive program for anyone visiting Garden County.
Anyone booking ten rooms for one night or one room for ten nights or any combination of rooms and nights, similar to this example, can qualify for $20 per room per night rebate. Click here to download the rebate application or you may pick one up from the Garden County Clerk's Office (phone 1.308.772.3924).
